Aaaaaag, all weekend I’ve been getting major latency from my web site because AT&T Broadband doesn’t know the mathematical “the quickest way between two points is a straight line” thing. Nope, instead, we’ll send you down to L.A., then BACK up to the Bay Area, then to the East Coast through a few hosts and then finally to your web server. Oh ya, according to the brainiacs at AT&T, 200ms is normal! hehehe, ya, they’re network wiz’s! Shows why them being a monopoly prevented common sense growth in networking knowledge, huh? Wow, 15 years later and they still haven’t learned less then 100ms is normal.
