Katelyn and I just returned from the pool and it was totally a blast. Since we’re only 100 feet from the beach, it was quite windy and thus forcing us to say submerged the whole time. Hey, we didn’t mind that at all.
It was neat to see the steam rush off the tops of the pools and spa toward the condo’s. The pool was very warm, had to be at least 85 and the spa a little over 100. So, it was very pleasant.
Katelyn and I had a really good time in the pool. Per our usual, she held onto me and I walked around the pool. This one wasn’t deep enough for me to swim in, so I just walked. It’s nice to be able to hold her and the majority of her weight is taken on by the water. Oooh, what an awesome thing to be able to hold my daughter which I can’t do outside of the water due to my back.
After some walking, we ran into the spa and sat in there for awhile. She didn’t seem too thrilled with the spa this time. Maybe it was due to the fact that it really was a “small pool” as Katelyn likes to refer to it. It seats like 20 people, so it’s pretty large for a spa. So, we rushed off to the kiddie pool and used the large pool as our transit point to retain our body head.
Once in the kiddie pool, Katelyn marveled at how she could stand in it. She walked around for awhile, but it was small (heck, smaller then the spa!) and requested we go back to the big pool. So out we went and into the big pool.
When we got into the big pool, she walked all the way down the stairs to the last step. I encouraged her to walk onto the pool floor without me holding her. She did. She was very pleased with it and went back to the top of the steps and came all the way back by herself. Then she wanted to see how far she could walk in the pool. She got pretty far, past the 3 foot marker and then she grabbed onto me and gave me a great big hug. Yes, I loved it.
We did more of that, goofing off and oh ya, I taught Katelyn how to swim! I held her on her torso while she kicked and held her arms out. At first, one arm clutched my neck, but she loosened up and put them both out later. She got really good and excited when I told her we could take her to swimming lessons this summer. I asked her if she’d help Joshua learn to swim when he’s three and she said yes. What a great big sister, huh?
Ok, time to catch up on work. Yup, when you have your own business, you really can’t take a vacation. ![]()
