U.S. Encryption Law

I just upgraded my favorite terminal program, SecureCRT, and noticed on the “I don’t live in these countries” section that Sudan is part of it. The others, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, and Syria, are of no surprise. It’s just interesting since Sudan doesn’t seem to be a country interested in encryption more then killing people. :(

This list is from those we have sanctions from and I could have sworn we lifted our sanctions from Iraq. I know we haven’t on Libya (yet) but the UK did just recently.
