Oh boy, if this doesn’t make your car look bad when you’re own chairman gets lost using it’s navigation system in the manufacturers own home town then I don’t know what else would. Yikes! I tell you, to Mercedes’ defense, I’ve used nearly a dozen different GPS systems and I have yet to find one that is over 90% accurate. I know there’s a lot involved in making these maps, but dang, with all of our technology advancements, it can’t be that hard to get me home!
In an ironic twist, the system couldn’t find its way round Stuttgart — the city where Mercedes is headquartered. Schrempp said the navigation system on his Mercedes kept telling him to turn around as he was driving. “I realized only after the third time that there was a problem,” he said. [Full Text]
