Tonight we thought it would be fun to clean Liz’s truck as a family. Note I said Liz’s truck and not the cars. Since my car is so low to the ground, it’s just too difficult for me to do anymore with my back. But Liz’s 4×4 is easy enough that we can all do that. So we did clean it.
We all got wet. We all giggled. We all scrubbed and we all dried it. Then I noticed Katelyn wasn’t around. I asked where she was and she called from the garage. Liz peered in and looked at me and said in a quiet voice, “She’s cleaning your car.” I looked in and saw her sitting there smiling and happily scrubbing the really dirty white car of mine in the garage. “Oooh, sweet-heart, we were cleaning mommies truck. We can’t do daddy’s until we’re done with mommie’s truck.” Well she really went on how she wanted to clean daddy’s “dirty car” and since it had already been started, I moved it out of the garage.
Needless to say, I ended up cleaning the car as it got late and mommie had to still complete their promised milk shakes. I was bending over and, yes, hurting my back. In fact, I sit here typing this in pain, but to be honest, it’s not as bad as it could be. And in the end, the car looks great (no one cleans it as good as me…take a look at the rims alone) and it was really funny when Katelyn looked at us with that huge smile telling us she was cleaning daddy’s “dirty car”. ![]()
