Bush opened his speech to the American people from the Oval Office Saturday by saying:
Good evening. Three days ago, in large numbers, Iraqis went to the polls to choose their own leaders a landmark day in the history of liberty. In coming weeks, the ballots will be counted, a new government formed and a people who suffered in tyranny for so long will become full members of the free world.
Since context is everything, you may wish to read his entire speech. It’s packed with some great points and some responsibility. Overall, a very good speech that answers Bush’s critics as well as containing that anti-PC word, Christmas. Gasp! ![]()
