Rumors have been buzzing for the past week that CES would be the release platform for Verizon and Palm for the new Treo 700w and now there is more information– with pricing — that says this indeed is the case. The feature list is to include 128MB Flash/60MB RAM, EV-DO and 1xRTT, 240×240 color TFT touchscreen, back lit QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth (minus OBLEX,) 1.3M pixel camera, speaker phone, SD slot, all running on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0. You party people fall into one of three groups for pricing and that is as follows:
1Yr Contract – $549.99
2Yr Contract – $499.99
No Contract – $619.99
Since I’m in the last group, I think I’ll take a long and hard look at this unit at CES before plunging that kind of cash on it. That’s what I paid for my Samsung i730 and trust me, if the Treo performs just as “well” as the Samsung, it ain’t worth it!
