The way my hand naturally uses a mouse, my "mouse finger" falls in between two buttons. I'm much older these days and my joints hurt more and more on their own. Using a two button mouse only exacerbates the problem. Although I have always liked the scroll wheel on such mice. So the scroll ball intrigues me. Nay, lures me! What irks me is that Apple stopped selling the single button mouse. Right when my 3 year old mouse died. Thanks goodness for ebay and clearance shelves. I have no need nor desire for a multi-button mouse. Now cordless is another issue. I have yet to find a cordless mouse light enough to warrant a purchase. I bought my wife the Kensington Studio cordless, two button, scroll pad. She loves it. I hate the weight, the power run for the "base", and the two buttons. Love the scroll pad and the rechargeability (although the batteries just gave up the ghost after two years. Funny how no one complains about rechargeable batteries other than the iPod's). Yes, you're right, the side buttons are too sensitive. I always invoke Expose at the wrong time and it's a bit annoying. The buttons, though, have never really been an issue for me. I sure hope they replace the track pad on their notebooks with this great little ball. I disagree that the cord is the worst feature. In my opinion its the placement and sensitvity of the side buttons. The side bottons are to far forward, forcing a person to arch the middle finger back, to use the scroll ball. Sometimes the side buttons have to be pressed several times to to get them to respond. They need to much pressure to activate. A very uncomforatable situation after even a few minutes of web surfing, but I sure love that scroll ball. I have gone back to using my logitech 4 button mouse. I have returned the mighty mouse.
