Apple got a lot of bad press with the nano scratch fiasco and now it seems to have rolled out a fix for it. Mums the word over there in Cupertino as no press release spoke of it or any mention of it when the 1GB nano graced the world of digital audio players.
According to forum postings, the new nano’s edges are slightly raised up, like a thin picture border, on the face of the nano. An Apple Store Genius Bar employee said this was done to combat scratches if non-thinking individuals put their little iPod face down.
You can see a picture of the new fix and just how it takes away from the nanos brilliance, but I guess you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do when there’s a slew of careless people out there.
