It’s not often I get too excited about web browsers, but man, I just found one that looks to be an amazing one. Based on Mozilla, like Firefox, Flock takes a different approach from the other browsers available. Concentrating on the blog and image sharing space that has become so popular in the last year, Flock builds in the ability to take advantage of these two technologies right in the browser. Watching the demo and how easy you can drag quotes from web sites to Flock’s “Shelf” and then drag them back into your blogs post with ease made me eager to download! Almost like having Clipmark built-in to the browser! Uploading pictures to flikr is as easy as drag-and-drop, as well. In fact, drag a picture from the Shelf into your post and let Flock figure out the code!
Flock themselves instruct users not to un-install their current browser…just yet, as it’s still very young. There’s still room for maturity, but it will import your current profiles if you want to use Flock in parallel with your other browser. Kinda gives you the “ease into it” mode.
The best part about Flock is that you don’t have to long for it from a competing platform because it supports Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows. Woohoo! How can you go wrong? What the flock are you waiting for, download now!
