So you’re one of the few lucky people with a MacBook Pro and it’s 34mm ExpressCard slot, huh? Looking to slip something in there? Maybe a modem? LOL, well there is no analog modem available for the ultra fast upgrade to the PC Card, but there are plenty of other products released that may strike your fancy. Ranging from network, video, and memory, ExpressCard’s web site has a listing of what’s out and who’s making it.

SvenOnTech looking for a card reader, one that handles the SD and CF needs of our digital life and we found two such adapters. One, shown here, handles every dinky memory format you can think of…but the Compact Flash card (but then again, CF ain’t dinky is it?) Make sense since the CF card itself is the same width as the new ExpressCard is. But, there is an adapter for CF and CF II but when SvenOnTech visited the site, we could find no mention of the must-have accessory for our MacBook Pro. Oh well, we’ll stick with our bulky SanDisk ImageMate for the time being.

You know, there is probably something for you to check out on the site such new additions as AVerTV’s ExpressCard Module and the eSATA II ExpressCard. You’ll also note the ExpressCard 1394B Adapter to make up for the lack of that Firewire 800 port on your mighty PowerBook upgrade. We think you’ll be just fine with what’s now out. Sure, we’re dying for Sierra Wireless to get an ExpressCard version of its awesome AirCard out real soon, but for now, this will have to do.
