A reader has informed SvenOnTech that a recent beta of the next update to Microsoft’s operating system, Visa, will include virus protection. Our source tells us that it has a, “…fully fledged antivirus scanning and integrated program, even down to the ‘Right Click’ and ‘Scan for Viruses’”. Interesting, no?

This leads to prove earlier speculation here at SvenOnTech that Microsoft indeed was going after McAfee and Symantec. While the later two have been on a buying spree of other companies to round out security suites, Microsoft may wipe out the two companies offering with a single release of Vista. Already including a firewall and now with the addition of Windows Defender which is anti-spyware protection along with reported anti-virus protection, it may send one company into court (again) and two out of business (or at least buy out material like Netscape became.)
