I use my iPod while working out on the treadmill. It’s a great tool to keep you going to finish that final mile when your legs have already ran four and don’t want to go on any more. Pump up the volume and make sure the right tunes are playing and I usually make it.
Now Nike and Apple are taking that idea a, mmm, step further. With Nike+iPod, the new Nike equipped shoes will actually talk to your iPod nano. Before leaving your computer, you simply put in your workout plan in and undock and start running. Your shoes will actually give your iPod updates as your run, telling you audibly in your ear buds, “One mile to go.” After that mile’s done, you’ll be able to dock your iPod nano and view an entire print out, charts and all, of your run.
“We’re working with Nike to take music and sport to a new level,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “The result is like having a personal coach or training partner motivating you every step of your workout.”
For a mere $29, you will be able to purchase the Nike+iPod Sport Kit at any Apple Store in about 60 days. The kit requires Nike+ shoes and an iPod nano.

Shouldn’t it be iPods Nano? I mean, Nano is a modified of iPod. It’s like Attorneys General, I think. Though, iPods Nano isn’t convention, it seems like the proper grammer.
