I’ve never been a real fan of Poison (I yelled at them at the Ratt concert they opened for in 1987 that they were all girls…and even though I was front row, they couldn’t hear me) so I kinda don’t care about their 20th anniversary edition of the album that started it all for them, Look What the Cat Dragged In which is now on iTMS. Yet, well, curiosity struck this cat and I had to see what was so different of this version as “remastering” a compressed file format doesn’t make much sense. What I found was a good laugh…and an empty album! Just in case the blunder is fixed soon after this writing, here’s a screen capture of my iTunes client looking up this delightful album.

What happened, I don’t know, but someone obviously messed up somewhere or maybe this really is what the album should have been to begin with, silence.

If you want the original, iTMS has that in stock no problem. And please, don’t talk dirty to me in the comments. Thank you.

itms is having some quality control problems. Last week in england their was a major blunder when the Alarm’s single Raindown was released. When you purchased it you got a song from a different band. The full story is over at Alarm.com . Only good to come out of it is Mike Peters and the boys released a killer version of a sex pistols tune in protest called EMItunes.

The Alarm covering the Sex Pistols. Hmm. Anyhow, yeah when I see “best of” releases by sucky bands, I always say to folks I’m hanging with, “What’s that, a blank CD?” I guess this is the next best thing.

As of 1:25PM, the album is gone.

At least it was “By Song Only.” It’d be pretty funny if they wanted to charge you $9.99 for 0 tracks. Almost as good as paying 99 cents for silence

I guess since I like Poison and consider myself a fan I need to defend them. 20 years later, tours alomost every summer with no new music and they can still get 10,000 people to a show. That is not bad at all.

  5. Sven Rafferty Says:

Dude, the Dead could pack places out, too, but that didn’t mean they played good music. :)

  6. Brian Says:

Ok, but the Dead only had 10,000 fans. It was the same people going over and over again. With Poison, it is different fans in each city.

You boo’ed Poison when they played with Ratt. I just saw Stephen Pearcy, he drew about 100 people. haha

  7. Sven Rafferty Says:

100 people? Where did you see him, at the mall? It wasn’t Ratt. I’m sure Bret Michaels couldn’t draw 10,000 by himself. :)

  8. Brian Says:

Ray and I saw him at the Avalon Club. The old back beat in Santa Clara. I know Brett could do that well. There is the need for C.C. for a good Poison tour. Last time I saw Ratt there was about 1,000 people (last summer) I think there are only 2 original members left. Though Robbie Crane (bassist) has been in the band for like 10 years.
