My laptop doesn't recognize the baterry hardware. Even with the battery attached, the system doesn't show anything. Besides this recall on those, do you guys know anything to helpe out? The worst part was the battery couldn't hold a charge at all so I had to do all my work with the power cord attached. This wasn't too bad except I would sometimes accidently unplug it during a blog post :P I had the same thing happen to my battery on my MPB. We're glad we didn't have to send it in like Mark had to 'cause we can't live without it. Though it may end up happening if the whining sound acts up (we tolerate it right now.) I don't have a laptop so i don't know. If it was how did you get it out and was there any other damage to your machine? Hope it all ends well.
