Lagotek and Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) today announced the integration of Intel’s Viiv(TM) home entertainment platform with Lagotek’s Home Intelligence Platform (HIP), a wireless whole home automation system. The combination of products provides all media support, such as distributed audio, HD video and distributed video throughout the home. Under the Lagotek network design, the Viiv platform operates all entertainment and system configuration functions such as managing climate control, identifying lighting scenes and organization digital audio into play lists that can be accessed and controlled from any user interface element of the HIP system.
The combined offering of Lagotek’s Home Intelligence Platform and Intel’s Viiv platform delivers home theater within Lagotek’s wireless whole home control architecture. Based upon Lagotek’s support for Microsoft Vista Media Center, system features can be configured to any desired sequence or combination such as dimming lights and lowering shades when starting a movie and bringing light levels up when pressing pause or stop.
Lagotek’s system design includes control of lighting, home heating and air conditioning, monitoring and surveillance, security systems, irrigation systems and much more. By integrating the Intel Viiv platform, all home electrical systems can be managed from any point of contact. One example would be Lagotek’s Modes application which combines system features for daily activities such as shutting the house down for the night. With the combined features that include the Viiv platform, a Good Night Mode can adjust lights, temperature, security and also turn off any music, DVD or TV programming from the single touch of a HIP interface in the master bedroom.
