Anthem released the Anthem AVM 50, a brand new video and audio processor that won the Ultimate AV Surround Preamp/Processor of the Year award and was also named the Sound and Vision’s Audio Component of the Year, sweeping the entire category of the Editors’ Choice Award at CES Las Vegas last month. The AVM 50 has everything it’s counterpart, the AVM 30, has plus more including high end audio and broadcast worthy digital video processing. Using the Gennum VXP digital image processor, convert any SD or HK video to other video standards up to 1920 x 1080p resolution.

Also present was the Anthem Statement D2 preamplifier and surround-sound processor which is identical to it’s sibling, the D1 with the addition of digital video processing. The D2 has Four HDMI inputs for digital video, audio, and multi channeling. Instead of using an external image processor, it utilizes an internal image processor. This allows for easy switching from one source to another, the ability to have as many sources as you can handle, DVD-A playback and separate tweaking for each source.

There were also a few amplifiers present at CES, including the Anthem Integrated 225 Integrated Amplifier which features 225 watts per channel and up to 7 inputs, including one for the iPod. Also presented was the Anthem Multizone 1265 Zone Amplifier with 65 watts per channel, 12 channels, a telephone interface, and six 2 channel local inputs.
