There use to be a time that you would have to call a friend or Dad when you needed help fixing something. “Dad, my dishwasher is over flowing bubbles left and right like that one episode in the Brady Bunch.” Then you hear your dad correcting you, “First, it wasn’t the dishwasher but the wash machine in that episode and second you’re using too much detergent in your washer.” “Ooh,” is your meager reply.

Well no more embarrassing calls to Dad or your buddy anymore, ’cause FixYa will keep ya faceless, holmes! Ronny Farkash of FixYa told SvenOnTech that the site is, “A social tech support website where millions of people every month get free online support by community experts.” Much like Experts Exchange (a full IT hi-tech support site), FixYa lets other users become experts in helping people with a need or two. Simply search your product brand and model and up will come a list of questions with answers. A large range of products can be found in FixYa’s database from dishwashers, to fridges, to cameras, to TVs, to car amps. A very broad range that is sure to help anyone. And if help can’t be found, you’ll be able to find the owners manual in PDF format. Heck, this may just be the right place just to find manuals!

FixYa is in beta, so the list of answers to questions are short as are the questions. But as time and popularity of this site builds, so will its wealth of information. Of course, that means you have to visit the site and become part of it. Hence the “social” aspect Farkash was referring to. :)
