My grandest hesitation from buying the iPhone was the lack of third-party software support. Web 2.0 “applications” via Safari wasn’t going to do it and most developers agreed. I knew I’d be losing my essentials such as eWallet, Pocket Vehicle Manager, and PocketBible. I found an online Bible that kinda worked, and maybe a replacement for my vehicle log, and nothing for my secure wallet. You could probably guess just how excited I was when the SvenOnTech Inbox had an e-mail from Laridian proclaiming God’s grace will be coming to iPhones everywhere soon. Yup, iPocketBible is in the works, folks. Can I get an amen?

Lead Godly coder Craig Rairdin is attempting to bring every aspect of PocketBible to the iPhone Web 2.0 version. That means notes, bookmarks, various translations, and so forth. What he thought would be a one week project as proven to be more difficult than that. I guess the devil is in the details? Sorry, couldn’t resist the pun. Anyway, Craig is hard at work and to, mmm, tempt us with antcipation, he has even made a little movie showing off iPocketBible in all its glory (QuickTime version or Window Media.) I know just the first few seconds has got me begging for a beta release! But all good things comes to those that wait, huh? Oh yes, is the landscape mode the best or what? Craig, you’re awesome!

iPocketBible will be a subscription-based service but Craig hopes to allow access to previously purchased books and such for those with on account. Craig promises for a quick release and an affordable price.

I am sure when iPocketBible does finally go live, it will be noted to be the finest release for the iPhone to date. Oh do I hope this Sunday will be that day. :)

Please don’t use apostrophes in possessive its. Correct is Its Stunning, not It’s Stunning. Thank you.

  2. Sven Rafferty Says:

My bad. I’ve been doing better on this too, but I guess I was so excited about the release that I overlooked the title. Thanks for the heads up.
