Folks, out with the old and in with the new. At nearly two years with this look, we at SvenOnTech have decided it was time to move on. Get something a bit more updated. It was also a good idea to stop hacking the main index file and shoving all that WordPress code there instead of just adapting to the theme structure. Hopefully, this will make for an easier and less timely upgrade next time. In fact, we plan on an alternative Christmas look in the coming month.
With this upgrade, we’ve also upgrade our WordPress engine. Lots of good stuff comes out of this, mainly that you (and me) iPhone users can now just navigate straight to svenontech.com and your iPhone will get a totally different theme. One designed specifically for your iPhone allowing for timely downloads that will even bring the content down quickly on EDGE networks. Thanks to Content.Robot’s iWPhone plug-in, you can enjoy SvenOnTech in 100% iPhone joy.
Now, you may be noticing some missing stuff. Yes, the sections are gone but are coming back. The day job is hectic and I just don’t have time to get it ALL taken care of today. This was a quickie (I can’t believe I
Okay. That’s it for now. Enjoy the new look and comment if you find issues. I’ll add it to my list of fixes. Thanks, and enjoy!
(Many thanks to Björk whom I was listening to while doing this well into the wee hours of the morning.)

Cool banner pic, Sven. But I’m afraid that the new style isn’t displaying correctly for me (IE 6.0.2900.2180). I get the gray bar along the left with all of the category links, etc, but the actual posts don’t start appearing until below all that.

Ah, wouldn’t it figure that IE would be an issue. Ugh. I wish Microsoft would for once just make something compliant to standards. I hate dealing with its CSS issues.
Thanks Mark for the heads-up. I’ll have to play with this later.
No Fletch, not Steve by Arnold’s hand.

Hey Mark,
I just checked in IE7 and it looks good there. Maybe you should upgrade.
I don’t have IE6 on “me” right now, so I’ll have to look elsewhere if I can. I suspect it’s the large images forcing the word-wrap into a “box” it can fit into which would be under the side column. That should fix itself out in the coming weeks as less 550 wide pixel images get pushed into the archives and the smaller 530 for the new more narrow column find their way in here.

Thanks, Sven. I tried IE7 a while back and didn’t care for it, but maybe I’ll give it another shot.

ahhhh, yes….
IE 6.0 CSS issues raise their ugly Microsoft head to you too, huh? Gotta love the ‘backwards compatibility’ the Redmond folks build into their apps…. or is that a ‘feature’?
I hate to consider placing a ‘this site optimized for IE 7.0 or above’ statement on sites, but time is money!
