I, for one, have already put a great deal of my personal Beatles collection onto iTunes from CD. Once those songs do come out on iTunes Store, there's really little left for me to want to purchase. Did Apple Records think I was going to wait forever to put the Beatles on my iPod? / rattyuk has a bit of a point.

Bob, look to the Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd catalog just released on iTunes and how well its done. Many whom own the vinyl, 8-tracks, cassettes, and CDs of the bands work went ahead and downloaded the entire catalog in large numbers. The fans have long ago bought ever iteration of the Beatles library on CD, and surely have copied it over to their iPods and computers. New sales, maybe, but not in huge numbers.
