Toy Balls! Bounces into the App Store

Toy Balls! just landed in the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Developed by Cazual Games, enter the world of Toy Balls!, where balls of all types move and roll across a wooden universe, but beware the electro-zapper lying in wait to zap any ball that comes in contact with it. Navigate through the 30+ levels making as many ball connections without hitting the zapper. One touch and your balls are toast!

Toy Balls! is a matching-based physics game with a twist…players must use their quick reflexes to connect and eliminate the continuous flow of balls by matching at least 3 of the same kind, while navigating and dodging in-level obstacles, labyrinths and mazes. Select and match longer chains of balls to earn higher points and the coveted 3-star ranking. The game implements the actual physics of the balls used (tennis, baseball, bouncy ball, etc.) with simple and accurate game controls.

Stinger Missile onto the App Store with Exclusion Zone: Anti-Air Warfare for iPhone and iPod touch

Appular announces the launch of its fourth title, Exclusion Zone: Anti-Air Warfare, for iPhone and iPod touch, offering a combative spin on strategic line-drawing games. An invasion led by fighter jets, stealth bombers, and Apache helicopters is quickly approaching the military’s land and naval bases. Players must avert the attack and prepare their silos for an all-out air-strike.

In Exclusion Zone: AAW, players act as the military’s chief defense strategist during an onslaught of air raids. Players must guard landing strips and helipads by drawing anti-aircraft missile paths that intercept and annihilate enemies before they land. Bonus weapons such as electromagnetic pulses and homing missiles enhance the combative element of Exclusion Zone by adding more firepower to a player’s death-dealing arsenal. Exclusion Zone also features OpenFeint integration with leaderboards and achievements to intensify competitive gameplay.

“In the past, we were contracted to generate war simulation exercises and we’ve definitely integrated some militaristic defense concepts into Exclusion Zone: AAW, to make it a lot more intense,” says Patrick Fitzpatrick, Director of PTK Learning. “We have a talented team of developers committed to Exclusion Zone: AAW, so fans can expect monthly updates with new maps and weapons that are guaranteed to be packed with more heat!”

In celebration of the launch of Exclusion Zone, Appular announces that they will be giving away three $50 Visa Gift Cards in a raffle to players who have totaled the destruction of at least 100 enemy crafts. Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer is starring in a new interactive storybook application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, giving kids a fun way to celebrate the spirit of the holidays. Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure is an intuitive app that features elements of mobile gaming and offers interactive storytelling interspersed with fun mini-games.
Based on the Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure TV special, the app follows the Latina heroine as she travels through time to teach the mischievous fox Swiper all about the spirit of Christmas. Even though Swiper has given Dora trouble on her past adventures, Dora believes everyone deserves a second chance, especially during the holidays.

“In terms of interactive storytelling, I think Dora is the best possible property to work with,” says Michael Elman, Creative Director at Budge Studios. “The television show is already extremely interactive, often calling on children to answer questions, or sing and dance along. Our apps take that experience and bring the interactions to life. It’s the perfect fit.”

“This app allows kids to continue enjoying Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure in a fun and exciting way that gives them control over the action,” said Tanya Van Court, SVP and GM of Nick Jr. and ParentsConnect. “Kids are able to interact with Dora by playing an app that features state-of-the-art technology on three of their favorite portable devices.”

Children and parents can follow along as Dora narrates the tale, or they can choose to read the story for themselves. Along their Christmas journey, they will interact with the environment to help Swiper in when he encounters challenges. The app features wonderful animations, all-original songs and several enjoyable in-game activities.

Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure at a glance:
Features several activities and mini-games
Offers wonderful lessons on sharing and the spirit of Christmas
Users can listen to Dora’ narration of the story, read it on their own, or have it read to them

New iPhone App for Kids - BugMath!

Bugs have taken over the iPhone—no, not the kind of bugs that crash your phone, but creepy, crawly kinds with an unexpected goal: teaching kids math!

TotsMobile has just released BugMath, a new educational game for the iPhone that teaches kids (ages 3 to 6) fundamental skills in counting, sequencing, addition, subtraction, and matching in a fun and interactive way. But what sets BugMath apart from competitors is its method of instruction, which is based on Singapore’s math principles.

Since Singapore’s math curriculum consistently earns top 3 ranking worldwide, Totsmobile created BugMath using the country’s main concepts, utilizing comprehensible visual cues, reinforcement of lessons in the form of games, and an engaging storyline to more effectively teach math to young children.

BugMath features a friendly alien named Ug-ug who crash-lands on Aliennz, a planet that’s full of bugs. Kids can join Ug-ug on his adventure to escape his buggy foes in five fun games, all of which teach math skills in a graduated format. Kids can start with Counting and Bug Attack and then progress on to Big & Small, Matching, and Plus Minus Bugs.

Tiki Toss 3D

Mellow Militia has just announced Tiki Toss 3D for the iPhone and iPod touch. The relaxing beachside hook-and-ring-toss game transports players to an immersive island scene, complete with perfect surf, chirping seabirds, and a Tiki bar. The game features new reggae music from fresh and popular artists and even a crowd of surfers to heckle and encourage while they’re taking a break from the waves.

Tiki Toss 3D is a digital rendition of the classic beach and bar game. A metal ring is tied to a rope and dangles from a branch overhead. Players ‘swing’ the ring with a swipe of their finger, and try to catch it on a hook mounted on a palm tree. Along with realistic animations and 3D graphics, the addictive game-play provides fun and relaxation, with a dash of competition thrown in. Players can track their high scores on global leaderboards and challenge their friends via Facebook and Twitter.

“Tiki Toss 3D is all about providing a fun, authentic island environment in the palm of players hands,” says Kyle McGetrick, Co-Founder of Mellow Militia. “With details like real modern island music, detailed scenery, cheering friends and the relaxing rumble of breaking surf, our goal is to focus as much on the vibe of the game as the skill and strategy.”

Tiki Toss 3D has three modes for gameplay; Best of Ten, Session, and Arcade. Session mode offers unlimited tosses for players to try for the most back-to-back “ringers,” while the Arcade mode offers even more variety with score multipliers, a double down betting option and bonus tosses. Tiki Toss is truly a game of skill and Mellow Militia seamlessly ports this aspect from reality to the iPhone platform. Graduating to pro level is tough!

“When you’re playing Tiki Toss on an actual beach, you know you’re having a good day. Bringing the game to the iPhone with added dimensions like fun animations, Arcade mode scoring mechanics, and dynamic music playback has been really exciting,” says Mellow Militia Co-Founder Chris Puglisi. “We can’t wait to build in even more features!”

Tiki Toss 3D for iPhone and iPod touch is available at 50% off, for only $0.99 through November 1st on the iTunes App Store at:
