Hey, living in California is tough for a Steelers fan. Ya, it’s tougher than the season Pittsburgh is having right now. Any true Steelers fan will do nearly anything to see a game, or highlights, of his or her favorite team no matter how poorly their “I always were a helmet” quarterback is doing.
So what gives on iTunes, two days after the blow out against KC, on no highlights? I understand that the previous three weeks were a joke but come on, give a little here! We need to see those glorious 45 points being scored. At this point, I’m not even stressing the outrageous $2 fee. But man, keep lagging on me Apple and NFL, I may start looking for a torrent…

Welp, I never understand why any one would ride a motorcycle without wearing a helmet but hey, at least you look cool, right? I don’t know how cool Ben Roethlisberger looks with a broken jaw, messed teeth, and toasted knees, but hey it’s his choice, right? Probably not cutting news right now, but in case you haven’t heard, Big Ben was in a motorcycle accident today and he was by himself.
Contrary to what he was quoted as saying last fall, when he said, “I’m pretty conservative and laid back. I’ll just continue to be careful. I told him we don’t ever ride alone, we always ride in a group of people, and I think it makes it even more safe.” Maybe he was on the way to the group ride, huh?
I always crack up when people tell me how they’re safe drivers and they’re cool. Safe driver, maybe, but not smart enough to realize others aren’t safe drivers and they can and will crash into you. Ben found that out today. But hey, I’m sure he was being conservative.
No hard feelings to Ben, I just have issue with anyone that rides without a helmet. It’s plain stupid. There isn’t an argument in the world to defend your position people. And those “brain buckets” all you Harley people ride with, hey, at least you’re keeping the brain together for future research after they peel your face off the street.
I hope you get better Ben…and that this knocked some sense into you.
TiVo likes spying on documenting its users and what they replay the most. In years past, commercials have received the highest hits of that little replay button on the TiVo remote but this year, it was Ben, Antwan, and Hines that received the most replays.
With the “gadget play” that sealed the Super Bowl win for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 4 million TiVo subscribers just couldn’t get enough of the spectacular play and viewed it many times over. “On average, TiVo households watched more than four times the controversial touchdown by Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the “Gadget Play” touchdown that clinched the Steelers victory,” so says TiVo in a press release. “In fact, TiVo households found themselves reaching for the remote many times throughout the game, the analysis shows. TiVo households hit replay, pause or rewind buttons on their remote an average of about 100 times during the Super Bowl broadcast, the analysis shows.”
From what I understand, the commercials weren’t even worth a slot in late night TV as most were really bad. Me? My brother used his HD-DVR to skip ‘em all.

Even up to this game, everyone was saying the Steelers wouldn’t be able to do it, yet they bring home its fifth Super Bowl title with an 11 point spread. Say what you may about the officiating; however, Hasselbeck himself said that it didn’t matter in the end because the Steelers played the better game. I agree and what a great one it was!
Yup, my swag is on the way!! 2005 Champs!!!!
Now what was that about NE being a dynasty and the Colts being the best? Mmm, maybe next time.
(Yes, it’s easy to gloat when you win!!)

Hey, looks like the NFL is already gearing up for a Steelers Super Bowl win. Got this in my Inbox today and I’m ready to pre-order my DVD, shirt, and hat (Joshua will love that.) I must say, I’m a bit surprised that the NFL would push this out a week before the game is even played but I guess after killing the top three AFC seeds in the play offs, the NFL knows what the rest of the world does, that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be Super Bowl champs.
(Note: I’m sure Seahawks fans got this, too. I mean, ones saying the Seahawks won. Hey, that’d be funny if they got the Steelers one.
)
Okay, the last post for Super Bowl-Bound Steelers Sunday. I just couldn’t resist.
Turnovers will kill a team every time, and Denver was no exception. Jake Plummer had eight turnovers all season. In this game, he had four.
But that is not an excuse on behalf of Denver. Quite simply, Pittsburgh was the better team. Pretty plain and simple, isn’t it?
Let the nay-sayers (“Bengals Colts Broncos are the best and going to win”) read this carefully:
And if there still were any doubters out there (yes, my hand is raised), the Steelers made them believers (yes, my hand is still raised) with their 34-17 victory over the second-seeded Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.
I like this one: They didn’t simply beat the Broncos. They owned them.
The one that touches my heart. The one the team has all year said it would do for Bettis and has proven it. Now just one more win to make it true.
On the eve of the AFC title game, Bettis made an impassioned plea to Roethlisberger and the rest of his Steeler teammates to help him finish his career in style, by allowing play what would likely be his last game with the chance to win his first Super Bowl ring … and in his hometown of Detroit, no less.
“Get me home,” he told them. “The Super Bowl’s in Detroit … get me home.”
Does it get any more perfect than “The Bus” riding off into the sunset in his hometown?
Actually, it does.
And lastly, what I’ve been saying since mid-season. Any AFC team is going to beat the best NFC team. Former Bronco’s Shannon Sharpe agrees:
The NFC has taken a backseat to the AFC all season. I said before the playoffs started that any one of the six AFC teams would beat any one of the six NFC teams. And now that the sixth seed in the AFC is going to face the top seed in the NFC, my point will be proved correct — finally.

You know, it’s tough to chose when you’re so emotionally involved, so I just say, “Give both to me!” So the Steelers are FedEx’ing both of these shirts to me so I can wear them and never take ‘em off until Super Bowl Sunday. Ya, I’ll smell but at least it’ll be worth that one for the thumb!
Check out all the sweet Champs swag and get yours now.
The AFC Champions the Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing The Bus home to the Motor City! For the first time in NFL history, a wild card team has defeated the number three, number two, and number one seed in the play-offs! Who do you think is going to win the Super Bowl against the weaker NFC? Do you have any doubt from the team that defeated “the best team in the NFL” (Colts,) and defeated what was suppose to be a close game by twice their opponents score? I have none. Bring it on. One for the thumb!!
Update: BTW, good luck trying to order your AFC Champ’s shirt at Steelers.com. The site is getting hammered like the Broncos offense right now.
Update 2: The site has just put up a number for you to call. But I’ve been letting it ring for over a minute now (not even a recording comes on) and it’s still ringing. But, give it a try and call 1-800-Team-Tuf (1-800-832-6883).
Wait, got a recording. They’re open ’til 5 PM (no EST or PST.) Well, I’m on hold listening to “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. Maybe I’ll get someone…
Will it be the technology of the game or just pure brute force of steel pounding against ponies win the AFC Championship for the Steelers today? I figure a little of both and my hopes are that I’ll be one happy camper in about eight hours.
Go Steelers!

Hey, I guess this chick is a true Brownies fan as she didn’t come to the better team and follow her old prom date to his new job. Nope, even though she has the picture to prove that her and Ben went to the prom together way back when (like what, five years ago?) she is still hanging out in the Dawg Pound and rooting for her team, the Brownies. I got to give her credit for it, because they’re a tough team to be hanging with right now after a 41-to-0 blow out. OBTW, the last time the Steelers had a shut out was five years ago. 22-0. It was the Brownies then, too!
