- Unexplained Dock connector hole netting removal
The Bottom Line
If you’re not looking for a “permanet” case or belt-clip holder but want something to protect your iPhone while in a purse or jeans pocket, then for the price, you really can’t beat the Uniea U-Pouch.
Uniea prides itself on more than just protection but also on quality and looks. You’ve heard not to judge a book by its cover but son, this ain’t a book and you have full permission to judge it by its cover. You’ll be pleased with what you find inside, too.
The U-Pouch’s soft suede casing makes it inviting while the ample padding for the front of the iPhone is reassuring that there is ample protection for your device. Oddly, though, the back side isn’t completely lined with the same padding. The zebra design comes in various colors that adds a nice touch to the already attractive case.
Inserting the iPhone into the U-Pouch is simple; however, removing it is a bit tricky. Don’t be fooled by the exposed upper sides of the iPhone as the pouches tight grip will not allow you to remove the phone using the sides of the device. Instead, you must push your finger through the bottom of the pouch where the dock connector is. Not an issue at all, but just different in practice.
The “hole” on the bottom is netted to protect the connector from debris, but one would think it would also indicate that the net could be removed for easy syncing if one would desire to keep the iPhone in its case while syncing. There is no indication on how to remove the netting, if at all even possible.
The U-Pouch seems to be a very durable holder and it looks to be one that will hold up for some time. Uniea’s case is well crafted and manufactured; I would trust my iPhone to the U-Touch. While I’m not a pouch kinda fellea, I prefer the belt-clip type holders, I must say, if I were to be a guy shoving my iPhone into my jeans pocket where my keys reside and could scratch up my beloved phone, I’d love to have the U-Pouch protecting it. It’s a nice, simple, well made, for any iPhone that requires a different touch for protection. Be it purse, pockets, or just holding in your hand, the Uniea U-Pouch is a, well, a good pouch.
