Astraware(R) and Sandlot Games have released a great new game, Glyph for Palm OS, Windows Mobile, for Pocket PC and Smartphone.
In this colorful game, your goal is to save the dying world of Kuros by reassembling ancient glyphs hidden beneath layers of rock. Break down the layers of rock by reassembling the different colored stones on the surface. Once you have uncovered 4 glyphs, you must arrange them in the proper way, much like the pieces of a puzzle. Complete five of these mini puzzles and they will assemble themselves together to form a picture. There are five of these big pictures, one for each element you must restore. Break down through enough layers of stone, and ancient artifacts will be unlocked. From flash bombs to stone sorters, these artifacts will help speed up the process of saving the elements. Be careful though, if you run out of time you will lose a life. Glyph offers two different game modes. The first is Quest mode, in which you Progress through 5 different worlds (one for each element) and over 125 different levels. The second is action mode which resembles the classic game Tetris. Action mode contains over 100 levels of, well, action!
Glyph is one of those games that is incredibly simple, yet amazingly addicting. I personally found this to be the case. I installed Glyph on my Palm OS, began Quest Mode, and didn’t put it down for about 45 minutes. The atmosphere, soundtrack, color, and beautiful graphics will keep you hooked for a long time.
Use either your stylus or your buttons to navigate through levels. The stylus was my tool of choice, as it allowed for quicker reassembly of the gemstones. Glyph makes for a perfect Christmas gift. Even if you don’t have anyone to buy it for, I would encourage you buy it for yourself, you definitely won’t regret it. Glyph is definitely one of the highest quality games on the handheld game market today that delivers hours of fun and enjoyment.
