If you need the ability to access your Tablet PC with one had or to have your Mac or PC mounted as a screen while using a connected keyboard and mouse, this is without a doubt the stand you need. If you can afford it. While the very pricey EVO Tablet Arm may shell shock some from buying it, those that do will be very happy with their purchase.

    Full Review
SvenOnTech told our readers about this Tablet/PC holder late last year and we were very enthusiastic to receive one of the first models of the production line. Innovative sent us an EVO Tablet Arm 5507 for review and when we opened the box, we couldn’t help immediately notice the wonderful shine of the metal inside the box. A well polished look, but mirror shiny like chrome, the EVO begged to be removed from its confines. We happily obliged and prepared to set it up for our MacBook Pro and Dell Inspiron laptop.

The EVO Tablet Arm consists of three pieces with one minor piece if needed. First, you mount the base which uses a simply finger tightened screw that mounts from under the edge of your mounting surface such as a desk (you can also mount it through your grommet — that little cable hole in your desk.) If your surface is too thin, you can use the supplied Allen wrenches to remove the mount lip and reverse it for mounting to thinner surfaces such as I had to. You can also add a piece of supplied plastic cap to the top of the screw to secure the mount to. After the base is secured, you simply slip in the arm and twist into place. Now grab the tablet holder and it clips into the arms end. Four supplied clips slide on to the bottom of the holder and are easily spaced with a simple slide. That’s it. You’re done.

We had to compliment the beauty of the arm with our MacBook Pro and quickly placed it on the holder. We pressed in the clips on the bottom and — presto! — our MacBook Pro’s screen was properly adjusted to eye level just floating before us! The cable clips allowed us to neatly put our power and Ethernet cable up the arm easily while keeping our work surface nice and neat. We then bonded our Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and we were off with our MacBook Pro as if it were just an iMac!

The EVO Tablet Arm was a bit quirky at first to adjust to our proper height, but once we figured out the movement of the arm, it was perfect and we do mean perfect! The EVO Tablet Arm glides into position without a fight and effortlessly moves anywhere you command it. It doesn’t even as much flinch when you pull it here or there. When we put our beast of a Dell laptop (desktop replacement, as they call it in the industry), the EVO gobbled it up. Removing the Dell was as easy as the Mac. Up and out. Piece of cake.

The sturdy and durable aluminum-casted arm gives Tablet PC users ultimate one-handed use. By providing either landscape or portrait mode with a simple twist, the EVO Tablet Arm frees your arm and hand while holding your tablet. You can also tighten joints of the EVO so that the arm is nice and secure allowing you to perform tasks on your Tablet PC without any movement from it.

    Overall
The EVO Tablet is one impressive holder. I tell you, it not only frees up your desk space and mount your device to eye level (or higher if you’re standing,) but it really highlights your device. My MacBook Pro really stands out next to my desk mounted 21 inch LCD screen right next to it. The shine from the aluminum-cast outer shell speaks volumes for style and durability. Anything sitting on this arm will be safely held without a doubt. While the $300 price tag may be a bit stiff, the high craftsmanship and obvious strength may be all you need to know that this arm will probably last longer than the one attached to your own shoulders.
