When Three Heads are Better Than One

Everyone is saying it. The more screen real estate you have the more productive you are. Yeah, I agree…but my wife doesn’t think it’ll help me be more productive in the yard. Mmm, drat. Now if you have a boss that is demanding more work out of you, you might be able to tell him or her that you could probably fulfill their request if they just get you a Matrox TripleHead2Go. Listen up on what it is. You’ll thank me later.

Matrox trick little device that can fit in your hand will allow you to add two or three external monitors (LCD or CRT) to give you a combined resolution of up to 3840 x 1024. Talk about widescreen! Oh ya, it supports widescreen, too (dual and triple mode). The box plugs into a standard VGA port on your computer and then you connect up to three other monitors via VGA on the Matrox box. Windows never knows any the wiser that you have three monitors hooked up (it sees it as one huge screen) and if you have a laptop, you can use the screen that came with it for a total of four screens in use! Very nice, aye?

With support for a slew of ATI and nVida GPUs, you’re pretty much are good to go with this wonderful black box. You can grab your own for about $250 (education discount) or for $279 from Studica for the rest of us. Of course you still also need to purchase the monitors to make all this magic happen.
